LAN - local area network is applied in small areas. LAN connected hosts and other devices located in a small area or in one building. An example of a LAN can be a home network (consisting of two or more computers), the network on the campus of the school (that connects different laboratories with each). MAN - intermediate network between the LAN and WAN. MAN-type Network covers more areas than the LAN, but smaller than a WAN. Most type of MAN network covers metropolitan areas.
